Michael Jackson’s Vision: A Review-Post yours in comments

Found this from Seattle. Please feel free to post your own reviews below in the comment section.

I wanted a fair review of the DVD as I am somewhat of a film buff and wanted a blu ray version. At least this kind of explains why there is not one and the surround sound situation as well. I am still getting my copy though.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I just got mine from Amazon today! Thx so much for letting us write our own reviews here.

The article went along with my thinking as well. I also would have loved to see more done with the bonus DVD, the accompanying book (although the photos are gorgeous), surround sound, and HD but, maybe Sony thought it would cost more.

I only disagreed that “In The Closet” was an obscure video; it wasn’t. “Who Is It” couldn’t have been obscure to MTV because they banned it at the time. Maybe they didn’t understand it so they banned it, who knows?

Yes; editing “Ghosts” was a HUGE mistake on Sony’s part but so was editing “Black or White.” When Sony takes out the racial slurs written on the windows it ruins the ‘vision’ MJ had for that segment (aggression & scorn against racism) and it makes him look like he’s angry for no reason. Then again, MJ was being censored heavily at that time but, I wished Sony would have supported this artist at this point in time.

“One More Chance:” as much as I loved what I saw, it does have an unfinished feel to it because we’ll never know if the shoot as it was was a wrap or not (I think the charges came to him while filming this?). Personally, I hate that you can barely see his face. I guess he or the director thought his a** would make up for that. I will say that when I see him straddle the balcony railing, I only wish the club had a pole too (sorry, I’m a fool). It’s just like “You Rock My World” where the director later admitted that he purposely tried to keep MJ’s face hidden. I don’t know if that was MJ’s idea or the director’s idea. We all know MJ was feeling down about his looks in the 00’s but a little love/lovin’ could have easily cured that.

I loved the packaging & I think MJ would have loved it too. The cover is all moving images which was very cool. I love the ‘random play’ option. And lastly, I just love MJ so I can’t complain. Thx DPYT.

I have to say my niece is in love with the packaging as am I, and I absolutely love the little snippets before each video.

I bought this because I love having all the videos on DVD for my TV instead of looking them up on YouTube.

Ive really enjoyed watching all of them, and I like the way some of them were enhanced.

I did hope for a little more when it came to bonus material, maybe behind the scenes stuff, like Thriller or Smooth Criminal. I wouldve loved for Captain EO to be on there, even if its not in 3D.

I also disagree with ITC being obscure. Id NEVER seen Who Is It until YouTube came about.

My disappointment comes in a few spots. I HATE that Ghosts was edited. The whole point of Ghosts is that its a LONG video, and all of it goes hand in hand.

In my copy, I have the dance remix of BOTDF and i dont like it at all. I LOVE the original song and the original video.

I personally like One More Chance. I love that it feels unfinished. For me, its the ultimate phrase in referencing Michael and his life. At the moment of his passing, everything was unfinished, and I feel OMC has to be that way, because thats how it feels now that hes gone.

I have to say that I am disappointed in SONY in putting this out only for not really having fans in mind. I think that they put this out just to put it out and didnt really think of what would make it unique and different from typical collections.

But I have nejoyed it and feel it is worth the price, just couldve had a little more

I don’t have mine yet, but CLTex, I agree that they just put it out just to put it out. We all know the rife he had with Sony and they didn’t like him then and don’t like him know, they could care less about REALLY packaging this for fans, they just want $$$ and they know MJ fans would buy it–and we did. I think Ghosts is the biggest disappointment because there is nowhere else for us to get that except for Youtube and to get a pristine quality would have been lovely. I have never seen Ghosts in its entirety.

All these ‘Visions’ and ‘Ultimate’ this and that aren’t really that. Give us everything you got and THEN we’re talking. Ugh.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

@GUNNGIRL, If you wish you see GHOSTS IN ITS ENTIRETY, YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASED THE GHOST BOX SET…..

Thanks for the reviews. When I can get to a decent size town I will be able to purchase mine. I was lax in my pre-order.

I guess I will add this that I am going to assume tat Moonwalker and Ghosts will probably be issued standalone since they are actual movies. They would have stretched the length of the box set and the dollar amount as well. It would have not made it affordable.

I do hope that there will be someone to fix the issues with the film ratio so that I can have HD copies at some point, he deserves it.

ou guys rocks, keep the reviews coming.

@ Speaking of Stripper Pole.. Have you seen the pics of MJ and stripper pole.. They are photos that were taken of him for the Invincible Photo Shot, where he is holding to a Stripper Pole.. FYI 😉

@COCO: Invincible photo shoot..YES!

Me + MJ + pole = 🙂

Target got it.

BTW, I think I’m the only person in the world who actually loved the remix of BOTDF & its video so I’m fine with this choice. I love OMC too. Whatever MJ has, finished or not, I want it.

I wanna give a shoutout to “Blame It On The Boogie.” I loved that video and everytime I see it, the 8 year old me comes out and giggles uncontrollably while MJ dances with his brothers. Even then you can see he was beautiful and he was a star!

Well I purchased my copy Vision today along with another copy of the Invincible and Dangerous Album. I got carried away I supposed 😉 Cannot wait to view my copy of Vision….

@Ty-Ann, I wonder if Lexi and MJ ever incorparated a stripper pole in their frequent sex/lovefests/sex feasts… 😉

She was a fireman!!!!!

Just got home…@COCO & @DPYT: y’all crazy LOL!

Even before I saw him with that pole I had visions of him getting a performance from his honey. That would be so hawt to me, him watching his girl dance on the pole. Whew.

Trees, thunderstorms, closets…poles

your wish is my command

I am cracking up laughing at you guys! @DPYT umm…yesssss! Stripper pole! Will he have dollars or will he make it rain? LOL!

Just some notes on the second dvd:

-“Will You Be There” doesn’t end with the beautiful angel embracing him. Why did Sony take that out?
-“Gone Too Soon” was redone. This is not the original. Not sure why.
-“You Are Not Alone” doesn’t include nude Angel Mike complete with angel wings. That was cut out but LMP is still in it, go figure.

Ladies: let’s not be stingy with that pole! Let Mike get on there and let’s see what he can do….

I am wondering if the Angel parts were taken out because of his passing? I know I have seen folks get really upset at some of the oddest things. I could see where him being wrapped up in Angel wings could be upsetting.

I will admit the naked angel Mike was kinda like huh??? to me. But whatev, it’s not my art. LOL

I will work on y’alls pole..

@ dpyt get to work on those poles missy… crack of a whip hee hee

hee hee too funny

hmmm

I’ll work his pole aight…LOL

So glad I bought it.
Disappointed in BOTDF. Can’t figure out why they edited so much out of Ghost.
LOVE IT

Never get tired of watching They Don’t Really Care about Us. Those jeans!!!! Oh Baby

Im not gonna try to complain too much regardin’ the video DVDset of MJ’s but I do just hope & wish ‘hopefully’ one day, Sony & the Estate will focus on for ONCE! Creatin’ & makin’ a big DVD series of ALL Things MJ’s! Not just damn ‘short films’ but concert series of ALL his concerts from J5-last, Performances & all TV appearances DVD series as well! There is no excuse, this man had performed his whole life & his whole life was spent on camera, Sony/The Estate has alot to choose from & create on all thing MJ-so they betta be start crackin’-u know?

Alot of the problems in putting together a clip complilation of appearances from different TV Shows etc from the past is getting the legal clearance from the estates, production companies and personalities involved. For instance the J5 being on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson would involve the express written permission of the Carson Estate, NBC, any of the stars who appeared on the show that night who might have sat on the couch next to them etc… It takes a long time to get those things together, but hopefully right now those types of deals are being made.

I do believe that MJ’s estate are trying to focus on paying off the creditors claims, dealing with the trial, taking care of the kids and Miss Katie, doing their best to repair Michael’s image to the “regular” consumer, and keep us the die hard fan happy. Remember Branca and McClain have pretty much given up their regular lives to do this. I think they should be given some credit for that, yes they are being compensated but honestly how many people would do that? I couldnt imagine how stressful it must be. Personally I applaud them on their efforts and thank them for trying to keep Michael’s memory alive for us.

Thanx for ur comment. It has really opened my eyes to alot of stuff I really didn’t realize or think ’bout!
