New Beginnings XIX

March/April 1992

The pen…the pen…THE PEN! He clicked it off and on, off and on, off and on as he waited for Joseph to arrive in the room. Michael felt sick, literally sick. He pulled the wastebasket towards him and threw up the coffee Melissa had brought him earlier. His eye started to twitch, that little nervous twitch you get when you have been so tense your body begins to betray you. God…he prayed he could be like Tito, strong and still. Never letting Joseph in past his calm exterior, damn it…he could hear him coming. He was almost to the door. He had to handle him like a businessman, no sympathy…no empathy, just the bottom line. Michael turned around so his back was to the door, and wiped his mouth, and his eyes were tightly closed when the door opened.

“Michael” Joe Jackson’s voice filled the room, “I hear ya called tha house lookin fo me?” He walked into the room with his entourage and helped himself to a brandy at the bar.  Taking a deep breath and with a roll of his eyes, Michael turned around to face his father. “Joseph” he noted the men that accompanied him with a brief look of disdain, “I need to speak with you…alone.” Joseph started to speak, “Now there ain’t nothing…” “I said alone Joseph.” Michael stood his ground, staring at the men who surrounded his Father. Glancing around Joseph sucked his teeth and haughtily said, “Uh, give me a minute wont cha.” His hazel eyes glared at Michael across the whiskey glass as he waited on the men to leave. After the door clicked shut, Joseph began to speak, “Michael, I been trying to talk to ya for weeks…” “I…I’m really short on time, so I need to get to the point.” Michael said, suddenly feeling empowered. “All these years you have manipulated me, lied to me, used Mother to do your bidding…and I took it. I’ve done so much to make sure you and everyone else in this family is taken care of and I’m tired of it. No more.” He emphasized his words with his hands, “No more!” Joseph drank from his glass and smiled, “Now Son, I won’t keep you long. What I need to talk to you abou…” “Joseph!” Michael’s voice was raised and his eyes were on fire, “I just told you no more. No more, scams or schemes or scatterbrain ideas on how you are going to make money, if only I can give you a loan or just give it to you. No, it’s over.” Joseph set his drink down and came around the table and stood before Michael, “Let me guess, that girl done put all these strange ideas in yo head. Yes, I can see that now. Son, she bad…bad news, pay ‘er off now and move on. Michael clenched his fist behind his back and found the courage to confront his Father. “I know what you did. I know you were there with her last night Joseph. How dare you scare her like that, how dare you threaten her like she is a damn dog tied to a stake you can kick whenever you need to get a thrill.” “Michael I was just tryin ta” Joseph tried to interject but Michael cut him off. “Stop it; for god’s sake…wasn’t it bad enough that you treated us like you did?” He was so angry he couldn’t help the tears that began to flood his eyes, “I love her, and she loves me, and YOU….you couldn’t keep your filthy hands off of her could you? You’re a pig, you make me sick. I swear to you if you ever lay another hand on her or even look at her wrong… Joseph you will never walk through the doors of Hayvenhurst again, and you won’t see another penny from me EVER….and one last thing. My child…MY CHILD, will know what it is like to have a Father, a real Father. One he can call Daddy, and not be so afraid that he gets physically sick being in the same room with him. MY CHILD, will know what it is like to be loved Joseph, and he won’t learn it by being around you, because you will not have a relationship with my baby. Not now and not ever.” Michael’s face was streaked with tears but he stood defiantly in front Joseph waiting for his reply. Muttering to himself Joseph adjusted his hat and took a drink of his brandy, “Michael whenever you calm down you give me a call, ya hear? Now dry that face of yours before yo makeup runs.” He set the glass down loudly and left the room leaving Michael alone again. Sinking into the chair he cradled his head on his arms and sobbed. A thousand memories of his Father berating him over the years still ringing in his ears, he knew that no matter how many accolades he won or what he accomplished in his life he would never have the three words he most wanted to hear from him…ever. Millions of screaming fans yelled it to him and he would give up all his riches to hear Joseph Jackson just say one time, “I love you, Son.”

The ringing of the telephone startled Lexi from where she slept on the bed. The cordless phone was balanced on her stomach and the remote control for the television was still in her hand.

“Hello”

“It is hot and dirty and I want to come home to you.”

Hearing his voice brought a smile to her face and she answered him sleepily, “You are hot and dirty and I want you to come home to me too Baby.”

“You sleeping girl?”

“Mmm hmm, I was. I just meant to watch some TV for a sec, and wait for you to call, but I guess I fell asleep.”

“No…that’s good, that’s good. You need to rest and take care of yourself.”

“I need to finish the laundry is what I need to do.”

“That sounds boring. I wish you were here, I’d keep you busy…all night since you got a nap.”

“A big ole girl like I am now? Come on…Michael Jackson has a supermodel performing for him all day, you are crazy.”

“I think you’re beautiful Lexi” his voice turned soft, “and when I look at you now…you take my breath away. I hate being away from you, you know.”

“When you say it like that, I think you mean it Michael”

“I do mean it. You’re beautiful, don’t forget it.”

For some reason she felt uncomfortable and changed the subject. “So what did you guys work on today.”

“Um, there is this old adobe looking hacienda and we are dancing in front of it. So we shot exterior on that, I guess tomorrow we doing stuff inside and other junk. I don’t know girl, it’s kind of weird with her. That girl is crazy.”

“What do you mean? Is she nice?”

“Yeah, she’s nice, I guess. She just crazy, I don’t want talk about her anymore. How was your day? Was work busy?”

“Of course…It’s always busy. Michael we had the cutest boy come in today. Oh you would have loved him. His Grandma brought him for an ear infection but he had a little hat on like yours….and oh my god. He was dancing, it was so cute. I told him that Michael Jackson would love his dancing and to never give up.”

“You did? That’s awesome, thank you.” How old was he?”

“Little, like four.”

“I want our boy to dance like that Lex.”

“I sure don’t want him to dance like me Michael.”

“Stop it, you dance fine girl.”

“Not like his Daddy can.”

“Alexis?”

“Yeah”

“I miss you”

“I miss you too Babe.”

“I guess I should go…I have to be up early.”

“Ok…”

“I’ll talk to you tomorrow night after that dinner.”

“Oh yeah, I’ll see if it’s on TV”

“Alright…I love you. Go back to sleep”

“I love you too, goodnight Michael”

“Night Lex”

He held on to the phone until he heard the dial tone; and gently placed it on the cradle. The television flickered silent pictures as he stared at the screen thinking about how much he wanted to be curled up beside her instead of holding his pillow. Why did he feel like time was slipping away, this video and then rehearsals and soon the tour? Before he knew it the baby would be born and he hadn’t even gotten to spend any time with Lexi experiencing it. She had been so patient with him since they had been back together, he was truly, truly blessed. This time the devil himself couldn’t force him to mess it up.

The day had been excruciatingly long; Michael had to be on the set at dawn and they didn’t wrap until almost six. Then he had to deal with Naomi apologizing over and over to him. He had explained to her gently that he just like to keep the set focused so that production stayed on schedule. Little did she know that he couldn’t afford any gossip of her flirtation to reach the tabloids and Lexi! He took the chance that if it did get out; he had found her innuendos uncomfortable and unprofessional and had quietly vented his frustrations to his fellow producers. When they wrapped shooting he had to rush back to the hotel and change for the contest winner’s dinner. It had been heavily promoted and the channel had sent production crews from around the world to cover the event. When he arrived it was a mad house just like he predicted, fans rushed the car and he had to climb back in to escape. “I can’t get out, it’s crazy out there. Do something to calm them down first. Get those kids to sing…have the choir sing so I can get out. The crowd will calm down if they sing.” Finally he could leave the limo and attend the dinner and he was able to meet many of his devoted fans from all over the world. Naomi sat at his table and had a bit too much to drink and let everyone know that the video was going to really change their view of Michael…it had changed hers. Then she blurted out just exactly what she wanted to do to him sexually in front of the whole table. Michael turned red and shook his head, glad that they were finished filming and he could go home in the morning.

Bill and hotel security walked Michael to the suite and Bill left Michael to settle in not long afterwards. Michael dialed Lexi as he undressed, calling twice but receiving no answer. Happy to relax, he was about to read a chapter of his latest antique book when his phone rang.

“Hello…no of course not Bill…just bring it up…I can look at it and get it signed…OK”

Michael marked his book and stretched waiting for Bill to bring up the paperwork that Michael needed to sign. He tried calling Lexi again but still received no answer, “What is going on?” he thought to himself as he hung up the phone.

Michael peeped out, when the knock finally came, and saw Bill standing there paperwork in hand, “Hey” Michael walked back in the suite after opening the door and sat down at the table waiting for Bill to bring him the papers. When Bill didn’t join him Michael finally turned around and saw her standing there. “Wait, what are you doing down here!” Michael’s face lit up when he saw Lexi, “I wanted to surprise you, Bill helped me out.” Lexi fell into his arms and laid her head on his chest.  “I’ve been calling the house since I got back here. I was wondering where you were.” Laughing she looked up into his face, “On the plane, stuck in traffic…fighting with your fans.” Not able to resist he gave her a long slow kiss. After he finally broke away he asked, “The fans? What do you mean?” She walked over to the couch and sat down and put her feet up on the table, “They just like staking their places out on the sidewalk and I needed by a couple of them is all. I wasn’t rude Michael, but damn…I needed to get to my man.” Sitting down beside her, Michael rubbed her belly and kissed her softly, “I’m glad you did get to your man, because your man is happy right now.” “Oh, I met your supermodel too.” Michael’s eyes grew wide, “You did? Um…how?” Lexi smoothed her dress down nervously and said, “Well, I called Bill from the house phone when I got here and he told me to meet him on his floor. So…when I got back to the elevators in the lobby, she was waiting there with her people, I guess.” Michael rolled his eyes but let her continue. “On the ride up she asked me how far along I was and then if I was here for the dinner. I told her no I was meeting my fiancé. She seemed very nice though, she was a bit drunk I think.” Scratching his chin Michael offered, “Yeah she kind of had a lot to drink tonight. So that’s it?” Shaking her head Lexi went on, “Oh no, here is where it gets interesting. She is staying on the same floor as Bill right? So as soon as the doors open guess who is waiting to meet me?” Michael’s expression was priceless, “Are you kidding me, what happened?” “Well Bill said… (Are you ready to go up?), Michael I swear I didn’t say anything I just punched the button for the elevator again. I don’t think he even realized she was there.  Naomi just looked at us both for a second and then at my stomach and kind of smiled and walked off. Michael giggled, “No, he knew. Bill knows everything that is going on around him. I love it.” Lexi thought for a second before speaking, “So…he wanted her to know about us?” Michael stood up and pulled her with him, “Oh yeah, he sure did. He wouldn’t have said it otherwise. Come on get ready for bed, where’s your bag? Smiling seductively she ran her hand up his thigh, “Well, I brought my sweats in my purse, and my toothbrush too. But I figured I wouldn’t sleep with anything on if that’s alright?” It worked; she could feel a response as he started to thicken under her fingers. “Damn girl hurry up and get to bed. I have had long, frustrating week. I am going to tear you up. GO!” He pushed her away and watched as she walked off swinging her hips in an exaggerated fashion walk. “Is that what you been looking at all week Baby?” Michael rolled his eyes and shook his head, “Take your short, fine ass in that bathroom and hurry up.” He could hear her laughing before she shut the door and he smiled as he stripped off his pajamas and climbed into bed.

“Mmm … that feels so good.” Michael pushed her hair back and bit his lip as she slid her lips down his shaft. Lexi looked up from where she knelt on the floor and moaned and wrapped her hands around him and lightly squeezed. Licking underneath she could see the tip turn dark and swell and Michael threw his head back and groaned his pleasure. Her lips returned and sucked his head as she twisted back and forth until she stopped just underneath. Twisting and turning she moved as she used her hands to pump him slowly up and down. Drawing her head back once again she had her tongue swirl around the end, tasting his wetness that had gathered as she worked. Michael watched as it clung to her lips in a tiny string and he felt a twinge. Lexi felt it too and she reached for him…lifting him up and stroking his sac gently. She repeated this several times until she saw more glistening fluid gather on his tip and she rubbed her bottom lip seductively over it. “You’re so hot baby.” She whispered as once more her lips descended over his pulsing shaft. He could feel the tension gathering in his groin, he was close to bursting. “I need you girl…come here, I need you.” Pulling her up by her arms he laid her on the bed and entered from behind. “Come with me too.” He whispered in her ear as he slowly slid inside. Pushing back against him, Lexi shook with fulfillment as he began to move within her. “Aye Michael, oh god I wanted this all day.” Michael wanted nothing more than to pull her to her knees and thrust deeply inside her, but he held himself back and gently rolled. “I don’t want to hurt you…” He closed his eyes and felt her heat, tightness and she was so wet he knew he wouldn’t last much longer. Her thighs met his and his hands roamed her body, finally pushing her tightly into his hips. He could hear her breathing start to quicken and his name fell upon her lips…”Michael…oh Michael.” “That’s it girl, you have me so crazy right now.” His hand slid down between her legs and he massaged her in a steady circle, all the while feeling her wetness growing against his fingers. A low moan escaped her throat and she stiffened uncontrollably, then she rolled long and deep against him. As she came she dug her nails into his leg, right underneath his cheek…it was involuntary on her part, but to Michael it sent him over the edge too. A slight bit of pain, mixed with pleasure always had that effect on him. “I’m coming.” He said matter of fact.  He almost rolled her over on her stomach as he began to lose control of his actions. She didn’t care, she was lost in her own ecstasy and he was adding to her pleasure. Opening his eyes when he could think again, he pulled her into his arms. “That was amazing….” Lexi kissed his neck softly, “No you are amazing, I love you.” “I love you too, Alexis.”

They lay still for a long time before finally crawling under the covers to sleep. Michael, of course stayed awake wrapped around her thinking about the future. Sometime during the night he felt the baby kick. Four strong kicks as Lexi slept on her back. Michael moved down and rested his head on her stomach and closed his eyes. He was surprised he didn’t cry, but he was thankful…and he wasn’t taking it for granted either.

Michael had been right; time was flying by. A month had passed since he had shot the video and Lexi had been working almost non-stop. She had dropped her Mother and Junior off at the airport a few days earlier, because Bernadette had been transferred to a new base in Germany. Michael made living accommodations through friends of Julia’s Mother, and he and Lexi would meet them all there when the tour opened. It was a perfect Southern California morning and he poured Lexi a glass of milk to go along with her toast and fruit for her breakfast. Glancing up as she walked in the kitchen he laughed as she fought with the draw string on her uniform scrubs. “I think you need a bigger size girl, those are getting a bit small on you.” Lexi frowned and went back to the bedroom to change. Michael followed her and watched as she took a new set off the hanger and walked over to the dresser to cut off the tags. “I bought these a few weeks ago but I have been putting off wearing them. You’re right though, it’s time to get a bigger size.” Taking the scissors and the scrubs from her hands he asked, “Hey, are you OK?” Lexi shrugged her shoulders and half smiled, “Yeah, sure…give me my stuff so I can go to work.” Michael reached behind her head and set the items down, “You look great Lex, so please stop worrying about it.” She tried to smile so he wouldn’t worry, “I don’t want to make us late Babe, let me get dressed.” Michael smiled and pulled her close, “It’s the video isn’t it? Stop watching the damn TV girl.” He softly touched her stomach, “When I was there…this was all I could think about. All I wanted to do was come home to you.” Looking down at his hand on her belly she chewed on the inside of her cheek and thought about her lack of confidence before she finally spoke, “You know Michael, it’s not like having any regular boyfriend….or carrying any typical baby. I feel like I have to be super human, always perfect. I really want to be too…for you.” Placing a gentle kiss on her lips he spoke in his soft voice, “Lex, you ARE super human…and god look at you. You are amazing. When I look at you I see so much…hopes, dreams, and my future. Besides, I think you are hot and sexy too.  I don’t want to hear you put yourself down anymore…you are more than perfect.” Lexi wrapped her arms around his neck, “I guess I need to hear that once in a while.” “I have more to tell you…” His hand moved to her breast and his thumb lazily stroked her over her bra, “can you go in late today; I won’t keep you too long?” His mouth met hers for a moment, as he waited for her answer. “I can’t this morning, remember we are doing the ultrasound? Can you make it?” His eyes grew wide as he recalled the appointment, “Oh yeah huh? I’ll be there…of course I’ll be there.” Taking her uniform off of the dresser she pulled the top over her head “Hopefully we can find out if we are having a boy or girl today. I am really excited.” Michael reached up and adjusted her top and then smoothed her hair in place. “I’m excited too. OK, hurry and get ready so you can have your breakfast girl.” Leaving her to finish getting ready,  he stopped at the bedroom door and turned around, “That looks nice on you.” Lexi smiled back and sat down on the chair to put on her shoes, wondering why her life was turning out to be the way it was.

Michael took a break from rehearsal with the band to check his messages. He had already spoken to Bill earlier in the morning and was disappointed when Lexi had called and left word that the ultrasound machine was going to be busy all morning with last minute appointments. She had made arrangements with the tech to come in late the next day so they could have the clinic to themselves, which was better for Michael and his security. His Mother had called again and Joseph was hoping that a Family dinner could be arranged soon. Michael crumpled the note up and tossed it in the garbage as he was walking to the table to get an orange juice. He had so much on his mind and the last thing he needed was his parents interfering with his life. He couldn’t believe it was April 29th already and the start of the tour was less than two months away. Opening the orange juice he glanced up at the television as he took a long drink. It was nearly seven PM and the station was showing a long aerial shot of the streets in Los Angeles. Looking around for the remote, Michael turned up the volume trying to determine what was happening. “They were acquitted?” his voice was barely a whisper when he realized that the Rodney King trial had ended with the acquittal of the Officers involved. Soon he came to see that the streets were full of angry residents beginning to vent their frustration. Suddenly the helicopter’s camera zoomed in on the intersection of Florence and Normandie and Michael watched as a group of rioters pulled a man from a semi truck and pummeled him nearly to death. The break room quickly began to fill up as word of the riots began to spread among the cast and crew. Michael turned his head, unable to watch the carnage on the television screen. Glancing around he found Kenny, “Kenny please…get everyone home safely, and if they live down there get them a room for the night. Bill…where’s Bill?” Stepping forward Bill put his arm on Michael’s shoulder, “Let me find out where she is Michael. Maybe she is already home.” Bill saw the bottle of juice in Michael’s hand shaking, and he realized he was just as afraid for Lexi too.

Lexi had transferred the phones to the answering service at five and instructed them to notify the on-call Doctor if there was an emergency. It was a bit annoying to hear the phone ring twice then stop, but ultimately satisfying to know she wouldn’t have to deal with the call after it transferred. Once again it was nearly seven when she was ready to leave and she walked to the back of the clinic to turn off the lights. She was startled when she heard the sound of glass breaking and voices yelling outside the front door of the clinic. Again she heard glass break and she backed up to the wall and crouched down to see what was happening. It was then that she saw the flames. Long orange and gold colored flames in the waiting room of the clinic and they were spreading fast. Running to the phone she dialed 9-1-1, but was told to exit the building and a truck would be sent as soon as possible. The city was under siege!

She could hear the phone ringing in the background as she ran to the front of the clinic where she kicked the door shut to the waiting room buying her some time. Two rings….silence. Smoke was starting to fill the rooms and she glanced around seeing all her hard work, hopes and dreams about to disappear. Two rings…silence. In the end there was only one thing she wanted to save…grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her arm, she ran to the small entryway that led to the front door. Two rings…silence. The glass broke quickly and she pulled the items out as fast as she could. Her hand began to bleed as some of the glass hung up on the edge of the wood, but she saved it all.  Two rings…silence. Smoke, thick black smoke was rising in the air and she gagged and coughed…placing her arm over her mouth she tried to run, but fell hard and then crawled on her hands and knees down the long hallway to the back of the clinic. One ring….she knew the phone system had burned through. Lexi crawled to the back door searching for the knob. It was dark, her eyes stung and she couldn’t hold her breath anymore. Her throat burned…it was hot, so hot. Finally the door opened. “Lexi…Lexi….” Vaguely she recognized his voice as he called her name but she couldn’t focus, couldn’t breathe….she welcomed the darkness.

Michael was frantic as they drove towards Santa Monica. “Find her Bill, she’s not answering the phone. I keep getting the service. Oh God…find her.” Bill reached down to make another call just as the phone rang,

“Yeah, Bill Bray…uh huh…alright…we’re on the way.”

Michael looked at Bill and froze, “No…don’t…don’t you say it Bill.”

“Michael, she is at UCLA. She just got there; I don’t know what is going on yet.”

Michael grabbed his shoulder, “Please hurry…please.”

Fifteen long minutes later they pulled up at UCLA. Michael looked up at the Medical Center and thought about all the connections he had to the hospital and prayed that tonight wouldn’t be one he would lament. When Bill went to locate Lexi, Michael struggled to regain his composure. He just had to reassure himself that Lexi and the baby were alright. This was not going to happen again. Bill came back with a wheelchair and told him to get on. Covering him with a blanket they sped off down the hall to a private triage room in the Emergency Room. As soon as the door closed Michael jumped out of the wheelchair and stood next to her side. Her eyes were closed and she had oxygen running as well as an IV. “Oh my god…baby what happened.” Holding her hand he saw that it was blackened with soot and was dirty. Michael heard the door open behind him and assumed it was Bill, “Where’s the Doctor? I want to know what happened.” “She damn near died that’s what happened.” Michael stiffened at the sound of the voice, “What are you doing here Antoine?” Picking up his jacket from the bedside chair Antoine stared intently at Michael, “I pulled her out of that clinic Michael. I guess they decided to burn it down; but she was still in it. I got called into work because of these riots and heard the pending call on the radio while I was driving in. She’s lucky….there were no other units available. I found her at the back door, about to lose consciousness. Apparently she thought that these were important enough to risk her life over…and I guess her babies life too.” Antoine handed Michael what Lexi had saved from the fire and turned to leave. Looking down at Lexi, Michael’s tears fell freely from his eyes. “Thank you…I owe you everything…everything.” Reaching for the door Antoine glanced back briefly at Lexi lying in the bed, “I was just doing my job man…just doing my job.” Antoine walked out of the room leaving Michael alone again with Lexi. He finally looked down at what Antoine had handed him and realized that it was the pictures of Hunter from the shadow box memorial. He felt his stomach begin to give way and he struggled to sit down and pull himself together. She really was super human, and the proof was in his hands.

“What happened?” Lexi’s eyes opened slowly and she looked around the room. “Shhh just rest Babe, you need to rest.” Michael sat beside the bed and stroked her hair. Suddenly remembering, she tried to sit up, “There was a fire, Michael, a fire…is it, please tell me it’s alright.” Michael’s soft voice seemed to calm her a bit, “Lex, things are kind of crazy out there right now. You just need to relax.” She looked over at the monitors and then back to Michael, “Is the baby OK, please tell me my baby is OK?” Kissing her cheek he softly whispered, “The baby’s fine, everything’s fine. They want to do a couple of more things, but its OK girl.” The Doctor walked in the room and checked over her chart and the monitors. “Miss Garcia, I want to do an exam since you have woken up now and we will probably keep you overnight for observation. Everything appears to be normal though.” Michael smiled shyly at Lexi and grabbed her hand as the Doctor called for a nurse to assist him with the exam. They were done quickly and he was satisfied that she was safe. “So far so good Miss Garcia, I am just going to keep you two in here tonight. It will probably be easier for all of us. We can get you out of here before dawn I think.” Lexi thanked him and moved over in the bed as he left the room, “Here, we can both fit I think.” Michael pushed down the bed rail and climbed in beside her. “I guess I really owe Antoine, I’m so grateful to him for being there for you.” Michael pulled her close and wrapped his arm around her. Lexi glanced up at the television and saw the fires burning, “What happened Michael? One minute I was closing the clinic and the next it was on fire.” He reached for the remote and turned off the TV, “I know I was at rehearsal when it first started. The King trial is over, they acquitted the Officers.  Lexi I saw the most horrible things today. I tried to call you. The calls kept going to the service….over and over. I was so scared.” Lexi felt a tear run down her face knowing that her clinic was gone, but she was grateful that she was alright and lying next to Michael. The beat of the monitor for the baby’s heart became the perfect comforting rhythm that lulled her in his arms. Michael held her till she was deeply asleep before he climbed out of the bed. He sat beside her all night contemplating what could have happened…and praying for everyone who were still living through it.

The smell of smoke hung over the city as they climbed in the car before the early light. A dim glow of the fires that burned across the skyline was visible as well. Bill said as long as they stayed on the freeway they were safe to go home to Santa Monica or Century City. Michael decided that Century City was closer to the Doctor so they headed home. Exhausted, but together.

Wow.. that was intense. Thank goodness for Antoine.. you know, somehow i want him to stick around. It would make things VERY interesting..

OMG so scary for Lexi and the baby!

Im really glad that Michael stood up to his daddy. Sadly its in one ear and out the other. Cant wait to find out if its a boy or girl!

Great chapter! Cant wait for the next!

Glad you guys liked the chapter! Things will be really picking up for the next one so hang on tight!

Great update. I was so frightened for Lex and the baby. I’m glad they’re well. Wondering if it’s a boy or girl too!

Dang it’s very very quite in here…

Awww,

I’m here DangerousPYT!!! I got your back.

Thanks girl!!!!!

Writing the next chapter…hopefully it will get read. LOL

That was really intense !! My stomach turned in nods while I was reading the part about the fire !! Great writing ! I’m so glad she got out safe. And she risked her life for him, to safe the pictures of his beloved Hunter ! That’s what true love is all about. Hope he realizes that now and for always !
Thanks

Can’t believe Lexi had to go through that! too damn sad =/ hope the baby is okay. Thank god Antoine saved her!

About time Mike had stood up to his Father, just had to let it all out.

Can’t wait for more love! keep it up! <3

Yikes! You’re already starting out my reading experience by bringing in the menacing Mister Jackson? Hey, Mike! Let me borrow that wastebasket because that makes of two us feeling queasy! LOL 😉 Just kidding!

Honestly girl, you really write Joe so well! I find myself acting like one of those crazy old ladies who talks back to her TV while watching “Wheel of Fortune.” Only, I am way worse as I sit here in my living room talking back to a computer screen urging on a fictional Michael to stand up to his fictional father! LOL But as it turns out, looks like Michael doesn’t need my support because he did a fine job on his own!! You go boy! And whether Joseph wants to admit it or not, he felt defeated!! Good, someone needs to put that man in his place. Especially after his extremely distasteful & disrespectful encounter with Lexi!

“It is hot and dirty and I want to come home to you.” —–> WHAT?!?! Are you inside my head?! That has been a reoccurring fantasy that I’ve played out in my mind for years now. I’m imagining myself waking up to hearing that come from Michael’s mouth on the other line and……

Oh, sorry, I meant to finish that thought but I could barely catch my breath thinking about it all! Let me just finish by saying WOW & if that had been me Michael was speaking to, that conversation would have continued and ended in phone sex. Nothing else. LOL

Awww! I’m so glad Lexi came to visit Michael! He’s really done a goodjob at showing & proving to her he wants to “make that change” (lol) Hahah @ Lexi saying “Oh, I met YOUR supermodel too.” And then this line “Damn girl hurry up and get to bed. I have had long, frustrating week. I am going to tear you up. GO!”—> Grrrrrowwlllll!! Love me some sexy, demanding, horny Mike!

“That was amazing….” Lexi kissed his neck softly, “No you are amazing, I love you.” —-> No, the author of this deliciously romantic & hot scene is AMAZING and I love HER! 🙂

Oh my gosh, you have me in happy tears over here as Michael lies beside Lexi listening to the kicking of the baby! That is unbelievably sweet & I must add (from personal experience) incredibly sexy too! I know on my worst days when I was feeling tired, sick, or fat during my pregnancies the one thing that was a surefire way to cheer me up was watching the love & excitement in my man’s eyes as he cuddled up close & cradled our baby inside my growing body.

“Can you go in late today; I won’t keep you too long?” — Annnnnnnd I think my clothes just disappeared. What I wouldn’t give to hear that come straight from his mouth! I would have immediately responded with something like, “Yes!!!! Hell, let them fire me for all I care. The only job I need to take care of right now is the one that’s about to go down in 2 seconds!” LOL And now flash to Lexi’s response—> “I can’t this morning” —> well, at least we know one of us is responsible. Hahaha

OMG!!! Yet again you have me breathless! Only NOT for a good reason this time!!! I swear, if anything happens to Lexi or the baby….!!!! And the clinic!! After everything! NOOO!!!! I am on pins & needles here! Never thought I’d say this, but thank you Antoine!! That was certainly intense! Thank goodness Lexi & the baby are alright! Phew! Though, I think I need a breather, or better yet, a cigarette after this one! 🙂
